Oak planks freshly sawn can be supplied from stock by Van Biezen Hout. These planks are often used in the construction of oak barns, verandas and oak outdoor buildings. In addition, these oak planks are very suitable as scaffolding boards. As oak is 1 of the most sustainable wood species in Europe, the demand for this product is increasing.

The boards are finely sawn. They are stored in the shed to dry. This is known as wind-dried oak. If possible, we can also have the oak planks artificially dried to a moisture content of approximately 14%. This is done at special wood drying companies with which we frequently collaborate. We only use artificial drying for large volumes to make the project economically viable.

Shelves 2nd choice

Currently, oak planks are also increasingly used in the civil engineering sector as an alternative to the much more expensive tropical hardwood. For hydraulic engineering, it is often possible to use a cheaper quality timber where fringes and knots are allowed. These second-quality oak planks are significantly cheaper than our first-quality planks and are also very suitable for shoring timber. It is therefore not surprising that these planks are increasingly used in shoring.
